About Us

Jennifer Rhodes Mendelsohn, ASID, principal designer of our firm, is a Charleston native and graduate of Winthrop University. She holds a B.F.A. in Interior Design and has been practicing interior design since 1992. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, having passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam in 1996. Her work has been published in Carolina Architecture and Design, Charleston Home + Design, Woman’s World, Charleston Home Design, Today’s Custom Home and the Lowcountry Living supplement in the Post and Courier. In 1999 she was awarded the CCASID Design Specialty Award for her room the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League ASID Designer Showhouse. She has held several positions in the ASID Carolinas Chapter,  including Coastal Association Board Rep, Ethics and Appellation Chair, Showhouse Designer Liaison and Awards committee chair. In 2009 she was recognized by Charleston Home + Design Magazine as a most influential designer and 2007 was honored by the Charleston Regional Business Journal with their 40 under 40 Award.

Karen Geer, our office and financial manager, has lived in the Charleston Lowcountry all of her life. She has over twenty years experience in the accounting field and as a professional office manager. She has been associated with J. Rhodes Interior Design since 1998.
